Bt Cotton in India

Cotton has a long history and its cultivation has undergone many changes through the ages. Cotton farming is widely prevalent today today, but cotton can be a problematic crop. The crop is cultivated in states in the north (Punjab, Haryana), west (Gujarat, Maharashtra) and south (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu). Non-traditional regions include Andhra Pradesh. A large number of approved Bt cotton hybrids are cultivated across India.

I used to maintain a page of links to news on Bt cotton, but have not added to it since April 2008. I intend to start updating it again but, in the meantime, would appreciate comments and suggestions.
